Transfer Operators and Limit Laws for Typical Cocycles

نویسندگان

چکیده

We show that typical cocycles (in the sense of Bonatti and Viana) over irreducible subshifts finite type obey several limit laws with respect to unique equilibrium states for Hölder potentials. These include central theorem large deviation principle. also establish analytic dependence top Lyapunov exponent on underlying state. The transfer operator its spectral properties play key roles in establishing these laws.

Inverse limit of M-cocycles and applications

For any m, 2 ≤ m <∞, we construct an ergodic dynamical system having spectral multiplicity m and infinite rank. Given r > 1, 0 < b < 1 such that rb > 1 we construct a dynamical system (X,B, μ, T ) with simple spectrum such that r(T ) = r, F ∗(T ) = b, and #C(T )/wcl{Tn : n ∈ Z} =∞.

Limit algebras and integer-valued cocycles, revisited

A triangular limit algebra A is isometrically isomorphic to the tensor algebra of a C∗-correspondence if and only if its fundamental relation R(A) is a tree admitting a Z+0 -valued continuous and coherent cocycle. For triangular limit algebras which are isomorphic to tensor algebras, we give a very concrete description for their defining C∗-correspondence and we show that it forms a complete in...

Operators and Laws for Combining

The paper concerns the use of the lexicographic rule for combining preference relations with diierent priorities. We use it to interpret defaults with priorities. We present four kinds of results. We show that the lexicographic rule is the only way of combining preference relations which satisses conditions proposed by Arrow 1. We show in what circumstances the lexicographic rule propagates var...

Lifting Operators and Laws

Mathematicians routinely lift operators to structures. For instance, almost every textbook on calculus lifts addition pointwise to functions: ( f + g)(x) = f (x)+ g(x). In this particular example, the lifted operator inherits the properties of the base-level operator. Does this hold in general? In order to approach this problem, one has to make the concept of lifting precise. I argue that lifti...

Limit Laws for Random Exponentials

We study the limiting distribution of the sum SN (t) = ∑N i=1 e tXi as t→∞, N →∞, where (Xi) are i.i.d. random variables. Attention to such exponential sums has been motivated by various problems in the theory of random media. Examples include the quenched mean population size of branching random processes with random branching rates and the partition function of Derrida’s Random Energy Model. ...
